The emphasis in fashion photography does not lie on the garments and accessories, but on the mood and styling of the image that conveys a certain lifestyle. The combination of these elements create complexity for each image as a whole, which leads to striking imagery! This is exactly what you will see from the images captured from this photo shoot.

Redken stylist, Tara Gardiner, approached me to photograph her cutting-edge styling techniques and color formulas that would be worn on various models. Her goal was to submit her images to the London Redken Color Contest. As you can see, the shoot was a colorful blast! The contest required that entries must showcase looks using Redken haircolor and incorporate technical skills for results that have wide consumer appeal and include before and after photos of the model; a brief description of the technique and the formulas to create the look; and an explanation of why it’s the next big trend. Four winners total from two categories—Street Style and Classic Contemporary—would be awarded a grand prize that includes a trip for two to the 2014 Redken Symposium Europe in London in February, as well as airfare, hotel accommodations and registration.
