That is the goal of photography, to freeze these moments in time that we wish could last forever. Life changes without our permission. The newborn baby is soon taking his first steps. That adorable toothless grin is filled with braces. The bicycle hangs in the garage as a teen-ager drives down the road. And the once tiny fingers intertwine with those of another as the two prepare for their lives together. Our photographs help us to remember each step along the way.

Photography is more than the science behind the camera itself. It is the way the light plays on the scene, the mood of the moment, and the relationships between the people in the frame. When I am asked to photograph a portrait or a wedding, I know that I have been given a beautiful gift: to be invited in to the lives of those who I am photographing, for just a few fleeting moments.

Sandra is an award winning photographer who has studied with many of the most talented and successful photographers in the industry. Her work has appeared on the Today Show and in Gallery Exhibits in New Mexico and North Carolina.
